Speaker: Jillian Stansbury. Tropane alkaloids have a long-standing history in shamanism, but are also used in several essential pharmaceuticals including atropine and scopalamine. The current uses of Solanacea family tropane alkaloids are detailed, including the physiologic mechanisms of action, and emerging research on novel applications for respiratory disease and opiate addiction.
