Speaker: Jason Miller. The role of signaling molecules and cellular receptors in regulating biological processes is a focal point for scientific research into human physiology. Overlaying the macroscopic view of traditional plant medicines on their molecular make-up and their effects on cellular receptors provides valuable insights into the application of botanical medicines in the modern clinic. Many plant derived molecules have been shown to act as agonists (stimulators) or antagonists (inhibitors) at specific cellular receptor sites. Key receptor networks to be covered in this lecture include: GABA/glutamatergic, cholinergic, endocannabinoid, opioid, serotonergic, and dopaminergic. Catalog Number 19ME10
